We decided to stay local and venture over to Glasgow Cathedral and the neighboring Glasgow Necropolis for this little Saturday Excursion. Glasgow Cathedral is about a 15 minute walk from downtown City Centre, so it's very close, and the Necropolis is situated right behind the Cathedral, across the street. We got super lucky and ended up going on a clear, rain-free day! The Cathedral was super pretty with very colorful and vibrant stained glass, and was super peaceful inside. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Here's just a quick video of Glasgow Cathedral
After spending some time walking around the Cathedral, we decided to cross the nearby bridge and visit the famous Glasgow Necropolis. While walking around I was mostly in awe at how pretty the day was. You could see blue sky! BLUE SKY!!! It's a pretty rare occasion over here, for sure. Plus, it made all the pics of the Necropolis so much more pretty! The necropolis was almost serene, odd enough.
It's silly how you can miss such awesome places in the city you live in. I'm so glad we decided to go visit these local places, because they have been some of my favorites! On a side note, there's a freakin' Pole Dancing club on campus, which is just so unheard of in lil' old protected STG. So, when we heard that they were putting on a show for four pounds one Thursday night, of course we all jumped at the opportunity to go see it! Behold, Glasgow University's Pole Dancing Club!
