The countdown to starting my adventure is coming down to the wire! I received my acceptance to the University of Glasgow back in September of 2016 and have been patiently waiting nearly a whole year to finally embark on this experience of a lifetime.
In 17 days I jump on a plane with my one-way ticket to Glasgow, Scotland. I was thinking about one-way tickets the other day. I don't know if I've ever bought a one-way plane ticket before! It's an exciting and daunting thought, knowing that i'm headed somewhere without a return date to the town i was born, raised, and still live in.
I've had a few family members ask if I've started packing yet. I just kinda shake my head solemnly, knowing that i should probably be starting that sometime soon. But it's just so daunting, trying to pack your entire life into a carry on and a checked bag. The only thing I have going in the packing department is a pile of random crap stacked on top of my bags. There's not much going on inside the bags, but that pile of random crap is a start, right? Right?
Today was also my last day of work at Southern Utah Insurance, where I've worked since I was 18 (holy cow, that's 6 years)! I've been so lucky to work with so many family members and close co-workers over these past 6 years. I've learned innumerable professional and life lessons during my time here and it's hard to believe it's coming to an end. I honestly don't know what i'm going to do without work, I feel like i'm going to be lost for a while without it. I obsessively check my work email via my phone on my days off, just to help you gauge what i'm talking about. Maybe It'll be good for me to take a step back from that for a while.
To all my co-workers who have decided to follow my journey here, thank you so much for the great months/years we've worked together! I'm going to miss you all very much!
